DUALR3 is a versatile dual-channel power metering switch that offers three distinct working modes: Switch Mode, Motor Mode, and Meter Mode. Each mode encompasses unique functionalities, requiring users to select one mode for DUALR3. Here’s an in-depth exploration of these modes and the corresponding external switch types.

Switch Mode

In this mode, the device operates as a two-channel switch with power metering capabilities (not applicable to DUALR3 Lite).

External Switch Types

  • Momentary Switch
  • Rocker Switch

Three Trigger Modes

  1. Pulse Mode: Suitable for momentary switches, toggle switches and pulse switches that rebound when pressed. Commonly used for access switches. Each press toggles the relay’s status.
  2. Edge Mode (Default): Suitable for standard rocker switches with two states: on and off. When the switch is toggled, it stays in that position without rebounding. Regardless of the direction pressed (up or down), each press toggles the relay’s status. Ideal for scenarios where the switch’s position doesn’t need to correspond directly to the device’s on/off state. Also allows external dual throw switches for dual control.
  3. Following Mode: Similar to Edge Trigger Mode, with the distinction that the switch position corresponds to the device’s on/off status. For instance, if the switch is set to open on the upper side and close on the lower side, it will remain consistent, even if the load status is altered via the app or voice commands. Additionally, it supports external dry contact sensors.

Real-time Electrical Monitoring

Monitors current, voltage, active power, reactive power, and apparent power for each channel.

Overload Protection

Automatically closes the corresponding load channel upon threshold triggers. Thresholds can be set for voltage, current, and power, and multiple conditions can be set to trigger device shutdown.

Schedule

The device performs a specified action at a specified time.

Timer

The device performs a specified action after specific delays.

Loop Timer

Device repeats a specified action at regular time intervals.

Power-on State

Define the status of channels upon power restoration after a blackout or power outage.

Specific Instructions:

When the device experiences a power outage or circuit breaker trip and is powered back on, the following settings apply to the device’s switch status. For multi-channel devices, configure the power response for each channel.

  • Turn on
  • Turn off
  • Restore the previous power state before the outage

Inching Settings

Automatically turns off the device after a specified time from activation.

Specific Instructions:

Upon completion of the inching setting, the device will initially switch to the ‘off’ state. Subsequently, after each activation, the device will automatically turn off after the specified duration. For multi-channel devices, you can configure the inching settings for each channel. The momentary duration can be set for minutes and seconds, precise to 0.5 seconds, with a maximum duration of 59 minutes and 59.5 seconds.

Motor Mode

Ideal for controlling roller blinds and curtains.

External Switch Types

Supports three switch types: single-key momentary switch, dual-relay momentary switch, and 3-relay rocker switch.

Calibration

To align the displayed motor travel position on the App with the actual motor travel position.

Specific Instructions:

Upon completing the calibration, the motor position (displayed as a percentage of openness) on the App will match the actual motor position. When selecting ‘Motor Stroke Calibration’ on the eWeLink App’s motor settings page, the motor will initially move to the starting point. Subsequently, it will move from the starting point to the endpoint and then back from the endpoint to the starting point, automatically completing the travel calibration.

Position Display and Control

Displays and controls the motor’s position.

Specific Instructions:

1. Turn on
2. Turn off
3. Pause
4. Position percentage adjustment
